However, the noise from the motorway prevented us from keeping the windows open. My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although a bit of a challenge initially with the smoking issue and staff attitude, were spacious, quiet, comfortable, and clean, providing ample room for our group of five. The service was excellent overall, with attentive and helpful staff, although room service and housekeeping were sound. The location, conveniently close to the motorway and within driving distance to Portlaoise town, was practical for our needs, but lacked greenery and had a somewhat uninviting restaurant/bar atmosphere.
